IMPORTANT NOTICE: Upcoming changes to Magellan benefit administration beginning in January 2026

In January 2026, Magellan Healthcare* will begin to phase out behavioral health benefit administration for several health plans.

We understand the importance of continuity of care and provider support. Magellan and the impacted health plans are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for you and your patients.

What you need to know about network participation

Ongoing participation with Magellan

Your Magellan contract will remain active for other plans still managed by Magellan, which may include employer-sponsored, state or federal programs.

In-network status for transitioning plans

You’ll need to have a contract directly with the impacted health plan or its new plan administrator to continue to see plan members as an in-network provider. Your Magellan contract will not transfer.

As we receive updated information from the health plans about their contracting processes, we will link those resources to our plan-specific pages.

Eligibility, benefits and claims

• For dates of service through the plan termination date, continue using Magellan’s current processes.
• For dates of service after the plan termination date, you must follow the health plans’ new procedures, including:
  • Eligibility and benefits verification
  • Prior authorization requirements
  • Claims submission
