Update: How to enroll for EFT payments

For Pennsylvania HealthChoices providers only

To receive electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments for services provided to Pennsylvania HealthChoices members, you must enroll in EFT.

Enroll in EFT

  • Complete the PAHC EFT Form (PDF) to have payments deposited directly into your bank account.*
  • Already enrolled with no changes to your banking information? No action is needed.

Important: if you also submit claims for other Magellan lines of business, you may need to complete additional EFT enrollments. Visit our EFT webpage for details.

What to expect after enrollment

Magellan will perform a transmission test with your bank to ensure EFT payments transfer correctly. During testing, you will continue to receive paper checks by mail.

Accessing payment information

Once EFT payments begin:

  • You will no longer receive Explanation of Payment (EOP) or Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents by mail.
  • You can view claim status, remittance information and EOP/EOB data in Claim Status and Remittance Viewer functions in Availity Essentials.**
  • You can also access your Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) through your clearinghouse.

Need help? Review the Resolution Process for Late or Missing EFT and ERA (PDF).

* Related instructions in the Provider Handbook Supplement for Pennsylvania HealthChoices will be updated in November.

** Through Sept. 30, 2026, you still can access and print EOP/EOB information and EFT claim-processing results through the Check Claims Status application on the Magellan website (sign in required). Beginning Oct. 1, 2026, these functions will retire from the Magellan website and will be available only in Availity Essentials. If you have not started using Availity, now is the time to get started.
